Re: can't build guest additions
VB 6.0 is stone-old and since 2 years no longer supported. Update to VB 6.1.

Re: can't build guest additions
Ok, but then i have to update my two other vbox guests, a win7 and a win10, also.
How do i do that without messing up?
I don't want to loose them, i'd rather not update and forget the mint install.
thanks for helping, i'm rather tired because of apnea and don't have patience to search the web for hours.

Re: can't build guest additions
After updating VB you update in each guest the guest additions. And id you have fear to loose anything, than the simple answer is to backup at first (as with any user data).

Re: can't build guest additions
Thanks people, upgraded to 6.1 went ok for all my guests.
Re: can't build guest additions
Perhaps you already have, but if not, do as Cosmo suggests. VMs are like any files. If important, you should have backups.

Re: can't build guest additions
On the VirtualBox Windows VM, choose Devices > Insert Guest Additions CD image. Choose Computer > CD Drive, double-click VirtualBox Guest, and complete the installation as prompted. Verify the installation. After the installation is complete, click Devices to check whether a shared folder exists.
