[SOLVED] Why amd64 kernel is installed in Intel x86_64 CPU?

Hi all,
I have a Dell Inspiron 14, with Intel x86_64 processor and installed LMDE Cinnamon 64 bits. But I noticed my kernel is for AMD. Why is it so?
~ uname -mr
3.2.0-4-amd64 x86_64
I searched for x86_64 kernels with apt and found nothing. Is it that x86_64 kernel just doesn't exist, or is not available upstream?
Thanks,
Emerson

its a dumb naming convention. amd64 is for both AMD and Intel.

It's a name of 64-bit architecture in Debian and Ubuntu.

Thank you! I was worried I had the wrong kernel.
