Ignoring file '*.list.save' errors after adding third party

Post by RavanH »

Subject not being long enough to describe it in full: After adding an external / third party package source to the Package Sources, I find several errors like this:

Code: Select all

Ignoring file 'opera.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension
Ignoring file 'dropbox.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension...
Somehow there have been created .save copies of each package sources file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

Deleting them ( with sudo ) solves the error but it keeps coming back after editing, adding or removing anything in via Package Sources.

Is this a bug?

If i remember correctly for exaple for opera:
go to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ open 'opera.list' and copy/paste the line

Code: Select all

deb http://deb.opera.com/opera/ stable non-free
into /etc/apt/sources.list and after that you can delete both 'opera.list' and 'opera.list.save'.

I had the same problem with opera and chrome.
