LXDE not saving setings.

Post by godsotherhand »

I am using LMDE but using LXDE instead of the normal Gnome DE.
My problem is that after i change the desktop image and then reboot, i get the default one again.
Can any1 help me change it? A blue background looks awful with the mint icons and panel :(

It's a bug.
You have to delete the system-wide pcmafm config.
Delete /usr/share/lxde/pcmanfm and your configurations should stick.

I don't have LXDE here but I used it a lot.
First make sure you have ~/.config/pcmanfm/LXDE/pcmanfm.conf (or something like that - it's the local config file). If you don't have it, then just copy /usr/share/lxde/pcmanfm to your ~/.config folder (~/ means /home/username/).
Then to delete that folder you must be root (or in Linux Mint/LMDE, use sudo).

Code: Select all

cd /usr/share/lxde

Code: Select all

sudo rm -rf pcmanfm
It will ask for your password.
