2730p laptop will not install Mint, or LMDE.

Post by lavatemp »

Hey I'm trying to install mint (LMDE) on a hp elitebook 2730p, and it keeps giving me error. the live cd works fine, and it installs, but I can not boot it on the Harddrive.
It keeps telling me that "non-system disk or disk error"

I have tried multiple times. I have grub installed, the livecd works perfectly fine, and the boot order is correct.

I have installed lmde before, I have ran LMDE before. I don't know what it is about this laptop, but it simply will not boot LMDE (or any other distro for that matter).

This issue also apparently is not on the other elitebooks. Just the 2730p, Can some one with this exact SAME laptop tell me how to install linux to this hunk of junk. PLEASE!

system info:
CPU: 2Duo L9400
RAM: 2048mb

@lavatemp: do you have a UEFI BIOS? If so , you will need a 100MB+ EFI partition on sda, it's usually the first one.
