Will we see the Firefox update this time?

Post by exploder »

LMDE missed out on the Firefox 37.01 update that arrived in the main editions. Yesterday Firefox 37.02 was released and I am wondering if we will see it in LMDE?

I e-mailed Clem about this. I think it was just accidentally overlooked with all the other work going on. Security is a huge deal when I have to file for weekly unemployment benefits... The factory I worked for permanently laid off 150 workers and I was amongst them.

That really stinks exploder, I think, things are not as good here in the U.S. as we are being told they are. :(

You are so right! Everything is moving to Mexico... My wife changed jobs last year because the company she worked for was also moving everything away. She has been a temp for over 6 months now and still waiting to be hired permanent at her new job... I am 53 and have one fairly good eye, it makes finding a job a lot harder. The government figures for unemployment are questionable to say the least.

Hard times, and the humiliations of the social security system.... Been there. All the best.

Every Firefox release is fundamentally a security release. The entire Mint FF update process should be automated. :)

All that is needed is automated cron daily checks of the "latest" release date stamps. That is, https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org ... es/latest/.

A hard part this time around was 37.0.1 was released to undo new security policies introduced in 37.0. LMDE users have not received those updates. :(
