Got an update for mint-artwork-debian and mint-backgrounds-debian earlier, and the default mint background 'gelsan_debian.png' (from /usr/share/backgrounds/linuxmint-debian) has been removed?
That's this one:

Re: Default mint background lost
Me too, and I'm ticked.
If I'd wanted to change my wallpaper, I'd have changed my wallpaper myself.
I don't want a different wallpaper, and I suggest (not very respectfully) that, this being Linux, someone might have asked first before making a change to my settings that I didn't initiate.
So, please add back the previous image as an alternative in the Appearance Preferences/Background dialogue.
Despite my being ticked about this detail, I do deeply appreciate the thought and effort that goes into making a distro that I enjoy working with so much.

Re: Default mint background lost
I saw this update and indeed it was clearly listed in the changelog that it would remove this background. I don't know the reason to be honest.
You can download it here:

If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Re: Default mint background lost
Thank you for that link. It will help solve one of the consequences of Sunday's updates.
Another is that since Sunday Evolution displays the messages and preview panes with black text on a dark grey ground (i.e. illegibly). This appears to have something to do with a change to gtk3 that I haven't been able to unravel. I may need to start another thread about that.
