[Solved] Suspend/Hibernate missing in shutdown menu

Post by ByteHunter »

Hi Folks,

i've got a working LMDE2 system on my Laptop. Suspend and hibernate works like a charm and both options show up in the shutdown menu.

Now I installed LMDE2 a second time in a different partition on the same Laptop.
Again everything works, except that the options to suspend or hibernate don't show up in the shutdown menu. :?
Nevertheless, I can suspend or hibernate the second installation with 'sudo pm-suspend' or 'sudo pm-hibernate'.

Any ideas why both options don't show up in the shutdown menu or what I could do about it?

Cheers

Thanks,
that did the trick.

I just had to realize that I need to do this as the according user and not as root.

Thanks again for this 'quickfix'!!

Cheers

The setting

Code: Select all

gsettings set org.cinnamon.desktop.session screensaver-uses-logind false
is the one that even makes Linux Mint (18.1) Cinnamon (3.2.7) show the hibernation option again after wake-up. (The other two in the post m.a. were already set to true here.)

Thanks!
