Will the lightdm slick greeter be ported to LMDE 2?

Possibly, probably. It's not on the roadmap (yet) https://github.com/linuxmint/Roadmap. Though given that Debian 9 will be released in 10 days it might rather be work put towards LMDE 3.

I highly doubt it. I would need to confirm but I'm not even sure that users upgrading Mint versions, say from 18.1->18.2, will get the new greeter. It might be troublesome swapping this out for people doing upgrades.rjl931189261 wrote:Will the lightdm slick greeter be ported to LMDE 2?
