Timeshift in LMDE

Post by I do Mint »

Hi all
Wanted to install Timeshift in LMDE to make backups again like I used to do in Qiana 17 but somehow it doesn't work.
It looks like it installs but nothing happens after given my password.
When uninstalled I got the popup that nothing was installed but it was just an icon in my menu, strange.
Now installed BackinTime but prefer Timeshift, anybody knows if Timeshift can be installed in LMDE and if so how?
Thanks!

Gr
Erwin

From where did you install it? I see it will be added by Linux Mint to upcoming LMDE 3.

I took it from here:
https://mint.pkgs.org/18.1/mint-backpor ... 4.deb.html

Complaining about libgtk:
Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libgtk-3-0 (>=3.16.2)

You can find Linux Mint maintained packages here: http://packages.linuxmint.com/. Try timeshift package from Qiana repository. That's the oldest package base and may work on LMDE 2 dependency wise.
