LMDE2 and configuration for long term support

Post by cm1 »

LMDE2 is based on Debian Jessie, and Debian offers long-term support for Jessie through mid-2020, but how do we ensure that LMDE2 is properly configured to receive those LTS security updates?

https://wiki.debian.org/LTS/Using#Using ... _.28LTS.29

states that /etc/apt/sources.list should contain these entries:

Code: Select all

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free
deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free

deb http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-free
but the /etc/apt/sources.list file on my LMDE2 install has nothing in it. Should I add those six lines into LMDE's Software Sources application under "Additional Repositories"? Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Hello,

If I'm not wrong, LMDE2 sources list must be located in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

If my memories are correct, it must be called something like "official repositories"...
