Hello everyone!
I'm running a 32 bit installation of LMDE 2 Cinnamon on a 17 inch iMac 5,1.
The one issue I come across is after installing Steam. It doesn't open at all, however here's the terminal output I see when I try and launch steam:
$ steam
Running Steam on linuxmint 2 32-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(0_client)
libGL error: unable to load driver: r300_dri.so
libGL error: driver pointer missing
libGL error: failed to load driver: r300
libGL error: unable to load driver: swrast_dri.so
libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast
I've looked around for others having similar issues, but sadly I am of no luck.
Has anyone heard of or dealt with an issue like this?
Thank you,
-Jake

Re: Steam libGL Driver Issues
I'm having the same issue on a 64-bit install, what graphics card do you have running in your imac? I know that the issue is driver related, you can find your hardware details using:
hwinfo --short
I'm using an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200 (ATI RS780M/RS780MN).

Re: Steam libGL Driver Issues
I've gotten a little further with the issue by finding the appropriate driver here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download.
After extracting and running the .run file I was informed that necessary tools were missing to install fglrx.
The log file explained that /lib/modules/3.16.0-4-amd64/build/include/linux/version.h was not present on the system but the install could be forced at the risk of system instability.
On other forum threads I've ascertained that it may be the case that Steam is not compatible with the current distribution of LMDE.
