Problem with CD/DVD drive

Post by Alexander_K »

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a solution for a strange problem with CD/DVD drive. It worked absolutely fine with previous version of LMDE. After upgrading to LMDE 2 I can use the cdrom only once after the system start. If I eject the disk and insert it again (this or another disk), the system does not mount it and I cannot mount it manually (sudo mount /dev/sr0 /media/cdrom returns that there is no medium). 'Disks' utility also shows that there is no media. When I try to eject the disk from the utility I get the error message "Error ejecting /dev/sr0: Command-line `eject "/dev/sr0"' exited with non-zero exit status 1: eject: unable to eject, last error: Inappropriate ioctl for device (udisks-error-quark, 0)". I have updated the system to the last available kernel version (uname -a = Linux xxx 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.43-2+deb8u5 (2017-09-19) x86_64 GNU/Linux).

I would be glad to hear any suggestions for solving this issue.

Alexander.
