[SOLVED] LMDE2 can't find my android phone's wifi hotspot.
That is it: My laptop gets just about any wifi around, but when I put up the hotspot in my phone, it won't show up in the list of available wifis.
Can't figure out what to do. Everything I find through Google is apparently for the reverse problem: the hotspot in the laptop and the phone trying to connect to it.
Edit: also, the hotspot has been checked in and used through at least another tablet.

Re: LMDE2 can't find my android phone's wifi hotspot.
I would do this then reboot and see how it works
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install b43-firmware-installer && sudo apt-get purge bcmwl-kernel-source
Re: LMDE2 can't find my android phone's wifi hotspot.
Thanks. b43-firmware-installer could not be found, so I went for firmware-b43-installer instead, with:
It installed it alright, but then it couldn't find bcmwl-kernel-source, and there I got stuck.
I rebooted anyway. Still can't detect the wifi.
