LMDE2 Mate System newest updates, Dell D620
Problem: WLAN has never worked on this computer. The 4965 card is new, and now shows up but iwlwifi doesn't show as a driver for the wireless card. Is it possible iwlwifi hasn't been compiled in the kernel (though have seen comments that 4965 drivers are built in) or possibly a soft switch needs to be activated that can only be accessed through Windows and a Dell driver. Is there a way to verify iwlwifi, and if it is not part of the kernel, can instructions be provided to add.
