Mint uses women's names for releases and this is the second LMDE release. Betsy is a fitting name because it starts with the letter B and because it represents reliability.

All I know is that the main version of Mint has been using female names with the first letter being alphabetical, and the last letter being an A , but LMDE has in the past been just LMDE with Update Packs, ( numbered ). I assume now that LMDE has left that, and gone to a different model, That this would be #2, and code named with B, being the second letter of the alphabet. But Clem has not openly said if this will continue ie ( LMDE 3 code name Cary ? ) or whether all names will end with a Y, or even if he will use male names? I guess we will have to wait and see.
