Great work but why so many applications from the iso!!
Don't care about gimp, rhythmbox, hexchat thunderbirdmail brasero full office ...
Maybe a lighter iso and updated debian stretch.

Congrats and keep the good work

Welcome to the Linux Mint forums.

LMDE comes with default applications for common tasks. There's no pleasing everybody with that  Some people want less applications, some want more and some want others (replace a default application with their preferred alternative). You can easily remove or add applications after LMDE installation to tailor it to your needs.

If it's barebones, then it would be pure Debian. ;)
Don't stop where the ink does.
