yes, download the deb installers for your locale from the libreoffice site. they contain instructions too

or use the flatpak

linux mint 19.3 at least have that option of upgrade.

I wouldn't be too disappointed with Linux.
LibreOffice has dropped support for 32 bit architecture, because almost all new computers coming out are 64 bit. So it is not Linux that dropped LibreOffice.

Which begs the question, why?
Why run the 32 bit version of Mint on a 64 bit laptop?
A complete reinstall of Linux Mint using the 64 bit version should pretty easy if you have installed into separate root and /home partitions.
If you did that you should be able to run LibreOffice V 7, although I personally think that V 7 is a complete waste of time at the moment.

I'm pretty sure LibreOffice V 6 still supports 32 bit systems.
I just tried LibreOffice 7 Appimage (64 bit) again to see if it had improved. It hasn't.
I open Writer and about half the line with the icons for formatting options is cut off. So I installed the full version 7.1, replacing 6.whatever completely. Same problem with the window layout.

I then wasted over an hour purging LibreOffice 7.1 so I could reinstall LibreOffice from Mint repos. That would not work due to broken packages (messed up installing 7 from OUTSIDE the repos), so I downloaded the .tar.gz of LibreOffice 6.4.7 and did the tar -xzvf filename thing then installed the debs as a batch.

Now I have LibreOffice 6.4.7 installed nicely again and the windows look perfect.
Every time I have installed version 7 of LibreOffice, it had a problem. Version 6 works almost exactly the same, and you probably won't get any real benefit from version 7 on a 32 bit system

I am very glad to be back on V 6.

At first an error. Som research by complex linux and installed later.

Linux became not fully workable. Complex. Im tired of it.
If you update linux can be a disaster.

Not sure what is the alternative for you nowadays. I hope you're not comparing Linux to Win10. In the past there was Win7, but it's the past, indeed

I know this is now Solved, but for anyone else wanting to try LibreOffice 7 in LMDE4 -
There's a completely self-contained Appimage in the LibreOffice.org downloads section.
The Appimage should be like flatpak and Snap (complete with all dependencies).
Sorry - I meant to post that in my previous reply but got sidetracked by the 32-bit question..

To quote Libreoffice.org website:
