Has your monitor the option to "reset to defaults" or can you adjust the placement of the screen there in your monitor settings?

Hello.

My monitor does have the reset to default, but remains the same.
Yes i can adjust the position, but when i turn on the screen it does the auto adjust...

I've noticed when i use 1024x768 works at 60.00hz, but when i switch to 1920x1080 uses 59.96hz Recommended VSync

I have no idea where i check to use VSync or it is automatic.

Thank you.

In the future, could you please use the code tags instead of the quote tags? It makes it so much easier to read the output of Terminal commands.

The code tag button is the one immediately to the right of the quote tag button.

Thanks.

Not sure why that's happening, other than your hardware is perhaps not officially or fully supported in Linux. However, there might be an option in your monitor's settings to disable autoadjustments.
I'm also Terminalforlife on GitHub.

Hello.

There is no option to turn off the auto adjust.

The problem doesn't reside with the monitor, because i used on my other computer with Mint Ubuntu based without a problem.
Sure the graphics card was a

Code: Select all

Graphics: Device-1: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] Oland PRO [Radeon R7 240/340] vendor: Gigabyte driver: radeon v: kernel
bus ID: 01:00.0 chip ID: 1002:6613

OpenGL: renderer: AMD OLAND (DRM 2.50.0 5.4.0-73-generic LLVM 12.0.0) v: 4.5 Mesa 21.1.1 - kisak-mesa PPA
direct render: Yes
As i said above before installing Mint Elsie i had Peppermint 11 (i think) and after installing the card auto switch to 1920x1080 without this problem. Noted this version of Peppermint ditched Ubuntu for Debian

Code: Select all

OS: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) x86_64 Kernel: 5.10.0-16-amd64
If can't find a solution i'll go back to Peppermint or Mint Ubuntu based or find something else

The funny thing is that both are based on Debian, i'll try the windows manager on Mint to exclude...

VGA cable? I bet the Radeon is too old to have a HDMI port. You certainly mentioned that Peppermint worked on this same machine though.
60hz mode is recognized by the driver. Try to force it.

xrandr --output VGA-0 --mode 1920x1080 --rate 60

If that somehow solves the problem, we'll have to look for a way to make the setting permanent.

Hello!

The card is a EAH4350 SILENT/DI/256D2(LP) <GA>

Code: Select all

don't know how old is it. VGA/HDMI/DVI ports.

Code: Select all

rah-rah@rah-rah-dev3:~$ xrandr --output VGA-0 --mode 1920x1080 --rate 60
xrandr: cannot find mode 1920x1080
Mint says 59.96hz recommended vsync

Thank you.
Have you tried with arandr, the xrandr GUI version?

Code: Select all

sudo apt install arandr -y
Then search arandr in your application and select the right screen parameters :)

Yesterday i installed LMDE and after changeing the resolution to from 1024x768 to 1920x1080 the screen is to the left 7 pixels and 4 pixels up (according to my monitor settings)

At 1024x768 works just fine.
