Has Gparted been modified?

Post by zb21 » Thu Aug 23, 2018 4:52 am

Has Gparted been modified on the live LMDE3 beta disc? The right click on a partition didn't produce the expected result on a drive with an existing OS. Howerver, it did successfully install and the pre-existing home directories seem to be fully functional.

I have LMDE3-Cindy installed, and I did not notice any difference in Gparted.

Don't forget to unmount partitions before you resize them!

I had the opposite thing confuse me! I used gparted to create and I couldn’t figure out how to mount the new partition for install as the mount option on the gparted menu was disabled and the installer demanded a root partition be available.

Discovered (by accident) had to return to installer (after finishing with gparted), then refresh, and then double click on the new partition to mount as root before continuing.

This was the main thing I found confusing with the install which might drive a lot of newbies to despair.
