moving files from home to data

Now that I have a partition system with a 50 GB home as ext4, that is where my LMDE3 pasted my 42 Gigs of music files leaving only 8+Gigs for anything else. How do I move those files from home to data which is ntsf formatted and wide open? The files were in my Windows 10 file system. This is the first time I ever set up a data partition or formatted any linux partition as ntsf.

Do you intend to share that data partition with a windows OS installation or is it going to be accessed exclusively by the LMDE3 OS

If you do not intend to share it you would be better off formatting it ext4.

I would like to share it with my Windows 10, so how can I move files from home (ext4) to data (NTSF)?
Also, how can I designate which place to put files aas they are entered ; home or data)?

You will simply mount the ntfs partition to a mountpoint to have access to it.

You can also enter the criteria in /etc/fstab to have it mount during boot,

Paste back the results of sudo blkid so I can provide you the necessary information.
