Boot time is faster in Cindy

Post by HaveaMint »

It is 1 second faster than 18.3 xfce with Cindy xfce.
$ systemd-analyze
Startup finished in 136us (firmware) + 93us (loader) + 3.346s (kernel) + 1.757s (userspace) = 5.103s

And your support question is?

Surely you've been here long enough to know where these kinds of observations go.

I always thought that time-to-boot was a critical thing for Windows users...
I couldn't care less if it's +/- a few seconds either way.

In Cinnamon it says:-
Startup finished in 146us (firmware) + 72us (loader) + 4.484s (kernel) + 29.452s (userspace) = 33.937s
I don't know if that includes the default of 5 seconds that GRUB allows before starting the default kernel.

My machine must do a lot more in userspace than yours?
Obviously, I'm thrilled that my loader is 21us faster than yours. ;)
