Linux Mint Debian password issue

Post by Leloup »

Bonjour,

After the LMD installation, I realize that I don't have access to the menu root. Usually with the Linux Mint, at the startup, I acceded to the GNU GRUB boot menu and I introduced the command rw. There with Linux Mint Debian, this command is not recognized.

Do you know to open the root menu with LMD?

Regards,

Leloup

are you still able to log-in to the machine with your User Password ?

can you still use that User Password to Install any Software from Software Manager ?.

the LinuxMint system, doesn't normally have any active Root Account.

An easy way to access the grub boot menu is to:
sudo apt install grub-customizer

Bonjour Pierre and jwiz
Thank you for yours comments and helps.

Yes Pierre, I can always login to the machine with my user password and install a software from the Software Manager. However, I would have liked to be able to login in the root mode.
jwiz, after installing grub-customizer it's the same. It seems to me that in the installation of Linux "Ubuntu" there is a line of code that starts with kernel and there in the installation of Linux "Debian", I don't see it.
