Hello everyone, I'm a new linux user who switched yesterday. I followed this guide(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Svno4shb3GY&t=26s) and everything seemed to work fine. however when I started to download and use apps like steam and chrome my pc freezes. these are apps I always use and kinda cant live without. does anyone know how to fix this?

you may need to follow the recommendation on the release notes found here: https://linuxmint.com/rel_ulyssa_cinnamon.php
Scroll down to the section on "Solving freezes during the boot sequence".
follow the instructions in the video to enter "nomodeset"
Then boot and install the correct Nvidia driver for you card via Driver manager.
I do not have issues while booting, and I do not have the Driver manager. the issue comes when i use certain apps for longer then like 1-2 min (chrome and steam for example).
How would i remove that issue? Do i need to download different drivers?(if so where cuz i cant find the Driver manager when i look for it in the search bar for apps) or do i need to update those drivers( if so how cuz of the same issue i mentioned above)

Freezes are still the result of Nvidia so the nomodeset will work until you get the right driver installed.

Driver Manager is an app for Linux Mint based on Ubuntu.
You have Linux Mint based on Debian. Debian Wiki NVIDIA Proprietary Driver
does anyone have a guide on how to do this? i do not understand what this site is telling me to do.
