Console Font on LMDE 4 with systemd

Post by thefish »

Hi everyone,

I know that this is an often-asked question but all the answers I find seem to be pre-systemd. I want to change the font on my console (tty1 – tty6) to Terminus28x14. I am able to do it with dpkg-reconfigure console-setup but after I reboot it goes back to ultra tinny. If I login and run sudo setupcon then it goes back Terminus28x14.

But from my understanding the whole setupcon thing is obsolete under systemd and that would explain why the settings don’t persist. I have read suggestions of putting “setupcon” in various startup scripts. But I am looking for the proper way of doing this.

I tried putting FONT=Uni2-Terminus28x14.pfs.gz in /etc/vconsole.conf but that didn’t seem to make a difference either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
The Fish
