Installer Accepts Invalid Characters In Username Selection, Preventing Login After Reboot

Post by ugurcansayan »

Hey yo sup

I have been trying LMDE4 on Virtual Machine and I think I have found a bug.

While installing LMDE4 on live session, when installer asks for name, username, password, etc; it doesn't check for a-z0-9 characters.
I have tried with my name (uğurcan) as username, and installer accepted it. After installation finished and rebooted, I got stuck on login screen: It was asking for an username then password; no matter what I type there (uğurcan then [REDACTED] or ugurcan then [REDACTED]), I wasn't able to login. When I set my username as ugurcan (g instead of ğ) while installing, login screen shows my name and asks for my password, which is [REDACTED], it just works.

I tried that with 64 bit but same bug (not accepting ğ) would be on 32-bit system I believe.
