USB installer keeps counting from 10 to 1 seconds

Post by izmgzoz »

Downloaded the lmde5 iso, verified and checked, all good, flashed to usb, booted and the boot options screen responds to up and down arrows, but pressing enter on the first option does nothing... At the bottom there is a counter that keeps going from 10 to 1, again and again and nothing happens.

Disappointing as I was hoping this could be the distro of the year!

Here's the inxi info on my old trusty friend:

My bad. I did check the iso image, but something was apparently wrong with the stick I used. Tried another one, burned it again and now everything works and LMDE5 is installing on my computer as we speak, giving plenty of usefull hints as to what you can do with it.

Just gonna leave this here, if anyone else has the same problem - check your usb stick.

I've had it... Installed for 30 minutes and now I get a "ERROR: No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed."

I'm sorry, but simply have no time to play around with a distro, if the installer does not work. Is LMDE meant for beginners? Or is this some beta testing software only?

Whatever, I installed Mint 20.3 and pretty happy with that. No hicups during installation, everything works.

Sounds like the issue is between the keyboard and the mouse/screen
