Hi,
I'm new to this - Trying to install LMDE5 on Macbook Pro 4,1 and it goes through the entire installation process until I reach "Installation Complete" and it asks to restart - Yes or No.
It won't let me highlight the Yes option to restart, eventually times out, and brings me back to the initial screen - GNU GRUB v. 2.04-20, where I have to start the whole "*Start LMDE 5 Cinnamon 64-bit" installation.
Have gone through this three times w/ same result. Is anyone familiar w/ this?
Thank you,
Idasdotta

When installing, make sure the bootmgr is set to the SSD/HHD, and not anywhere else.

[SOLVED] LMDE5 installs, won't restart, loops to start installation
The reason it did not restart into newly installed LMDE5 (linux debian edition) was because I had not removed the USB drive from the macbook pro each time it restarted, it started the installation over again. I was waiting for a message to tell me to remove it and didn't get one like in other distros.
