LMDE on RAID0 on asus eee PC

Post by MLED4 »

Recently been playing around with RAID. There are, in my opinion, two ways to get LMDE onto RAID.

The first way is to install the system normally to ext4 then move the files over to the RAID partition. I prefer to use mke2fs to format the raid partition and specify the UUID to be the same as the ext4 partition you installed to first. This saves you messing around with chroot etc.

The other way, my preferred way, is to use a debian netinstall to install a base system onto RAID, then add mint repos and build LMDE from the ground up.

I've never used the lmde installer expert mode to install to RAID, as it appears to be more difficult.
