Kernel Panic After Applying Updates

Post by Al-Gear »

Aloha, everyone,

So I’ve applied the updates from the update manager, and now the machine won’t boot without the previous kernel (5.10.0.12) selected in GRUB. ASUS EEE 4G lappy.

Re: Kernel Panic After Applying Updates

It happens, although not commonly. I would just wait for the next kernel update, or at least that'd be my approach in Ubuntu-based installations. If you're still having this problem after the next couple of kernel updates, I'd be concerned.

Please paste the output from inxi -Fxxxrz between

tags. It might help.

You might find some helpful logged information in '/var/log/syslog' or '/var/log/boot.log', regarding the failed attempt to boot up. It might be handy to know what the panic text said, if anything specific.
I'm also Terminalforlife on GitHub.
