Problem getting Timeshift installed

hi there !

WHY so complicated , tedious the upgrade ?

edit : according to this site : https://itsfoss.com/backup-restore-linux-timeshift/ , some users say timeshift is not trustworthy !

recommendation for something better ?

Timeshift works fine in principle. There are some known bugs that will hopefully get fixed in the repo version eventually.

Yeah, brain fart, of course LMDE does not support PPAs (at least not easily), those are for Ubuntu. Get the .deb from https://github.com/teejee2008/timeshift/releases (edited my post above).

My browser doesn't load that link but I assume the .deb doesn't work. In that case best just stick to the repo version or give compiling from source a shot. ;)

Really? That should be fine though, LMDE3 comes with libgtk-3-0 v3.22.11-1

Looks like the error was from trying to use Timeshift before upgrading to LMDE3 which based on posting history is probably the deb version from github and not from the repos.
