Nemo - non-contrasting panes in double pane view [SOLVED]

Post by axisofevil » Thu Sep 13, 2018 4:29 pm

Previously, LMDE2 nemo in double pane view showed the inactive pane shaded & the active pane on a white background.

But LMDE3 nemo shows both panes equally as white backgrounds, which makes it hard to tell which is the active pane.
Is this something I can fix via configuration or is it a nemo or Cinnamon deficiency?

What theme do you have set for 'Controls'. The dual pane contrast is controlled by the GTK theme. Mint-Y and Mint-X both support contrasting background colour to distinguish the active pane from the inactive. Support in other themes will be patchy depending on whether or not the theme author has included nemo specific theming.

It's fairly easy to hack in if your current theme doesn't support it.

Thanks @smurphos!
Fixed.

I've always previously used default themes with default borders, icons & controls etc (all Mint-X).
But changing just the "controls" tab to Mint-Y fixes the nemo problem.
Everything else appears pretty much unchanged.
