Unable to upgrade Mint 19 to 19.1

Post by viktor_87 » Sun Jan 27, 2019 8:21 pm

Running Mint 19 Cinnamon 64bit with Ubuntu Kernel v4.15.18. I have package MintUpdate v5.4.7 but it doesn't have option to upgrade to Mint 19.1. I received updates only for Cinnamon, Nemo, systemd, Xed, Firefox, Timeshift, Xviewer, Xplayer and related packages. I noticed that package mint-upgrade-info is still v1.0.9 and I receive no updates for it. I also receive no updates for the Mint Kernel, which is still v4.9.130. I searched for updates with default update servers set and also with local servers. I also tried and switched to the default Mint Kernel but received no upgrade. Thank you kindly for your time.

Switching mirrors in Software Sources might help.

You are posting in the LMDE3 forum, and you clearly have LMDE3 installed despite not showing us your inxi output as you always should. So what's this talk about Mint 19.1? That's not the operating system you've got installed my friend. Your next upgrade will be LMDE4, which does not yet exist. :)

You're running LMDE3, not Mint 19. As gm10 said. No wonder you couldn't "upgrade it to Mint 19.1".

So gm10 was right: post above. Must have been the kernel version 4.15.18, which revealed that it had to be LMDE 3 and not Mint 19.

Heh, well, that and even more so that he mentioned Mint kernel v4.9.130 plus mint-upgrade-info v1.0.9, those were dead giveaways. ;)

Well, I apologise again for mixing up Linux Mint 19 and Linux Mint Debian Edition v3.
Would somebody be so kind to tell me which the latest version of mint-upgrade-info for LMDE 3 is?
I can't find it on DistroWatch.
