Fixed: Cinnamon crashes to fallback mode after running startx

Post by hero4711 » Fri Feb 08, 2019 4:41 am

Hi,

I have a fresh new LMDE 3 which worked fine ... until I logged in at another console (you can select one with Ctrl + ALT + F1..F7) and mistakenly ran startx. Since then, Cinnamon always crashes to fallback mode.

Probably there are some files which I have to delete or something. Can anybody help here?

EDIT:

As nobody replied, I fixed it myself by installing Mate. Cinnamon seems to have plenty of other bugs: on my laptop, the battery status is not shown. It fails to show the console when a link to a script is created on desktop.

Reason: Moved from "Main Edition" (Ubuntu based) to "LMDE 3" (Debian based)
