My system crashes when I play videos on youtube

Post by dabidu5 »

Hello! For several times, while playing videos on youtube my system crashes. It freezes and the only way to shutdown the system is by clicking the power of button. I don't know why this is happening.

PS - I am not a native english speaker.

System Temperatures: cpu: 6280.4 C
Are you running a nuclear reactor...lol...That temp reading would be 11336.72 F...DAMIEN

Ps...obviously, that cannot be accurate, as your house would have burned down by now.

CPU:Dual Core model: Intel Celeron N2815

The passmark on that CPU is 472. I had problems playing videos after a time with an i5-3210 (passmark 2424) with the temperature exceeding 90°C. I suspect that is the problem. Your CPU is not powerful enough.

You are running LMDE, install the CPU temperature applet (I assume it is available, don't use LMDE) and monitor the CPU temperature.

You will be better off running a less demanding version of mint, such as mate or xfce.

Try LM 19.2 Xfce with its default 4.15.x kernel, as it may do better with that hardware. Still supported until April 2023.
