Flatpak Firefox and ibus (input method framework)
Hi,
I want to use Flatpak Firefox with LMDE.
That is non-ESR.
However, ibus, which is an input method framework, cannot be input inline in the text box in that Flatpak Firefox .
If you use ibus and know how to solve this with ibus, please let me know.

I enjoy using LM, but do not feed the trolls.

The reason why Flatpak(non-ESR) has the latest features of Firefox.
Deb(ESR) can't catch up.

You can install Firefox's separate version, just take the latest version from official site:
Just create a separate profile for it. You can even start both version simultaneously with the launcher command like
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/88.0.1/linux-x86_64/en-US/
Just create a separate profile for it. You can even start both version simultaneously with the launcher command like
firefox-88x --no-remote -p some-profile-name

Thank you for your suggestion.
If there are two deb versions in Mint, will it not cause a problem when updating?

You have chosen LMDE, based on Debian stable presumably for its... well stability.
Except, you want to use a unstable version (not rigorously tested, anyway) of a browser for internet access?
Doesn't seem very consistent.

Not well stability.
And I want to use the latest features of Firefox.
This is my ideal.

Sideways install it, I'm running Firefox esr,Firefox proper, Firefox beta and Firefox nightly and they update themselves
https://www.linuxuprising.com/2019/12/h ... n-esr.html
use method #3
instead of menulibre right click on start >>> configure >> menu tab >> open the menu editor>>> internet >> new item
1) name: FIrefox
2: command search for /opt/firefox/firefox %u or whatever your path is (dont forget the %u)
3) comment: Browse the World Wide Web
4) hit icon and seach for firefox icon
5) hit ok to save

Thank you for introducing a good article.
I will try #3 and your additional description.
I salute your wisdom.

No worries mate. After you create the menu item you can also right click on it and add it to the taskbar aka panel. You can >> help >> about firefox to force it to update. Good thing about the sideways install is pure Firefox without any of the Debian or Mint adjustments
