New network card support

Post by DrTeeth »

I have just got a new computer and the motherboard has an Intel Ethernet I219-V chipset. LMDE does not "find" this card so I cannot even install it manually.

I swapped my hard drives from my old PC to this new one and all my Linux distros (except this one and OpenSuSE Tumbleweed) and all my versions of Windows are working like a charm.

From where can I get a driver for this card?

Thanks

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay in answering. I have been fighting windows 8.1 to run on an unsupported chipset (Z390) and have won!

Please see the screenshot from LMDE showing the output of the commands that you requested.

Cheers

PS OpenSUSE Tubleweed is now working. LMDE is the only distro with which I am having probs.

It seem that you have not rfkill installed. Run

Code: Select all

apt install rfkill
rfkill list all

The plot thickens. Please see the attached. Could the install have failed as I do not have internet access due to the networking card issue?

Is there any way to upgrade kernel to 4.15? I would not worry about rfkill as that is only for wifi/bluetooth.

My motherboard is on the MSI B360M MORTAR TITANIUM.
Also Intel Intel I219-V,
Install Linux Mint 19, no problem,
However, it is not possible to connect automatically when installing LMDE3.
Please install Linux Mint 19 first, if you can.
That might be the LMDE3 kernel is just 4.9.0,
Because the Linux Mint 19 kernel is 4.15.0,
Perhaps the problem is in the kernel version.
