[Solved] Mouse scroll wheel issues

Post by RIH »

When I try to use the mouse wheel to scroll down a page the result is erratic, to say the least.
Sometimes it will scroll down (but never to the actual bottom of the page), sometime it will actually scroll up, instead of down & sometime the screen will just judder but not actually move up or down.
So I am left navigating pages using the up & down arrows on the right hand slider bar.

The mouse is a Microsoft Wireless Mobile 1000

Is there a software solution to this, or will buying a replacement mouse be the only solution.

I know it's a silly question, but have you tried fresh batteries?

Not a silly suggestion at all, but unfortunately a new battery has no impact on the situation...

The only other suggestion I can think of is trying a shot of compressed air around the scroll wheel in case something is lodged in there causing the issues. Even blowing hard may work. The oils in our skin do get in there then trap dust/gunk.

Other than that, I'd say time for a new mouse.

Not possible to clean scroll wheel - it is a very enclosed unit.
Bought a new mouse, problem gone away..
Marked solved..
