Problems with [Radeon HD 8650G] under LMDE3

Post by Gladdle » Thu Aug 08, 2019 4:35 pm

I have installed LMDE3 (64bit) on a MSI GX60 Notebook, but without the Grub- Option "nomodeset" the system doesn't start. Maybe the The proprietary ATI Radeon drivers are missing, and i have no idea, how to install them on LMDE3. Everything i have found is based on LM17 or Debian Jessy, so i can't use them. Maybe someone can give me a tutorial or informations about that? I didn't find anything useful.

There is a Sticker on the Notebook: "AMD Radeon R9 M290X". And here is the the output from "lspci | grep VGA":

Code: Select all

00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Richland [Radeon HD 8650G]
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Neptune TX [Radeon HD 8970M]
Here is the the output from "inxi -Fz":

LMDE3 was booted with the option "nomodeset", i'll think thats the reason for "driver: N/A". Maybe someone can help me or give me some useful informations?
