Hello,
LMDE4 is more Debian than ubuntu-based LM. So, if you want to install an AMD driver, do it 'the Debian Way' to avoid trouble :

Have you checked your inxi output to see if the driver is already installed? Most radeon drivers are included in the kernel and install automatically when you boot LMDE4.
Please give us information about your install by entering this command in a terminal:
inxi -Fxxxrz

Re: Amd Radeon hd 8600m support
So there are several things to know at this point.
-- Your computer is a dual graphics computer (Intel and Radeon).
-- Both the radeon and Intel graphics drivers are loaded.
-- Your system is set up to render with Intel graphics as that is the standard with these types of laptops.
Graphics:
Device-1: Intel 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics vendor: Dell
driver: i915 v: kernel bus ID: 00:02.0 chip ID: 8086:0416
Device-2: AMD Sun XT [Radeon HD 8670A/8670M/8690M / R5 M330 / M430 /
Radeon 520 Mobile]
vendor: Dell driver: radeon v: kernel bus ID: 01:00.0 chip ID: 1002:6660
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.11 driver: ati,modesetting,radeon
unloaded: fbdev,vesa resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz
OpenGL: renderer: Mesa DRI Intel HD Graphics 4600 (HSW GT2)
v: 4.5 Mesa 21.0.3 compat-v: 3.0 direct render: Yes
I color-coded the drivers so you can see both are there.
Using the link Aztaroth provided, I went to the section which explains how to see your Hybrid Graphics.
To use your Radeon card on specific software such as games, you will use instructions found in this post.

Re: Amd Radeon hd 8600m support
This data indicates your system has Ubuntu-based Mint and not Debian-based Mint. I did not catch that when I posted earlier.ondrapois wrote: ⤴Wed Sep 15, 2021 2:05 pmCode: Select all

You posted in the LMDE Forum which is for Debian-based Mint and since there are so many comments and links related to Debian already in this thread, I am going to leave it in this forum.
The comments about the drivers and how to use the Radeon card for specific software programs are still correct and appropriate for your system.
The links to Debian based information do NOT apply to your install.
