I'm trying to get over to LMDE5.
When I set up a fresh install of LMDE5, the graphic started up with a half screen.
Tried lot of tips and finally I had got Nvidia 340.108 and after a lot of trying, I made the install from root after killing X-server. The install seems to went well but after that I got the message;
"Recieved signal SIGTERM; aborting"
What is the meaning of that?
After rebooting there was no changing. I haven't got the new driver to work.
I couldn't start the program "NVIDIA X server setting" already from the beginning.
Output:
olle@desktop:~$ nvidia-detect
Detected NVIDIA GPUs:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation G86 [Quadro NVS 290] [10de:042f] (rev a1)
Checking card: NVIDIA Corporation G86 [Quadro NVS 290] (rev a1)
Your card is only supported by the 340 legacy drivers series, which is only available up to buster.
olle@desktop:~$
Looking for some help.

Re: Installing new Nvidia driver
How did y try to install the unsupported on Bullseye 340 legacy driver? I've spotted those two largely similar but with a few striking exceptions methods Installation of nvidia-legacy-340 in debian 11 (Bullseye) & How to Install Nvidia Legacy 340xx Driver on Debian 11 Bullseye.

When I tried his link, it caused me a system crash.
I gave up LMDE 5 and went back to Mint 21
