Wi-Fi hangs after a while (cannot ping router)

Post by Amsterdamer »

I have installed LMDE4 (Debbie) on a Lenovo Yoga (it is the host, not a VM) and I have a WI-Fi issue.
Kernel: 4.19.0-8-amd64
Network: Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac
Driver: ath10k_pci
Wi-Fi is hanging after a bit. It does not matter the time I am connected, it is about usage. Once I browse a bit in the Web or try updating a big package via apt-get, it hangs.
NIC has an IP address (via DHCP and NetworkManager). But from some moment on, I cannot ping neither DNS server (assigned by NetworkManager), neither router. Router is up & running and all other Wi-Fi devices (laptop, smartphones) are connecting without an issue.
I can see in the router that there are 2 IP addresses assigned to that same MAC address. One of them is coming from an attempt of mine to assign a static address. Since this was attempted in a previous installation, I expect that it is coming somewhere from my home directory and not root (FS "/" was formatted).
1) How can I find the source of this second IP address and remove it?
2) Is this the root cause or should I check something further?

Thanks in advance
