Re: wifi problems after last kernel update today
Try this: Open a terminal and copy and paste the following command:
Reboot
Code: Select all
sudo sed -i 's/3/2/' /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf

Re: wifi problems after last kernel update today
First, an admonition. If everything on your system is working, and there are no warnings about kernel vulnerabilities, and your kernel is an Long Term Support kernel, DON'T UPDATE A WORKING KERNEL!
Second, I'm sure you know that you still have your last kernel on your system. Updates do not uninstall old kernels and do not remove them from grub's boot list. You can still boot from your old kernel by choosing the advanced options at the grub screen and then booting from the older kernel that works.
The Update Manager has a section for kernels, and you can go in and remove the latest, problematic kernel there. Then, when the update for that kernel pops up (and it will, because the update manager will again see it as an uninstalled update), right click on it and choose 'ignore this package'. I always ignore kernel updates if I have a working system.
