Apologies and a question re:NTSF partition in LMDE3

Post by tlcmd »

First, my apologies to all y'all for using so much upper case, colors, and increased font size! I used them to ascertain that the basic info I wished to pass along for help with my questions was really obvious.

Today's question: If I make a small (2gb) NTSF partition for a Windows application in my LMDE 3 partitioning scheme, can I install or copy one Windows program into it without using Crossover? The program is the free Movieorganizer 2.8 available only as a Windows program. I have my DVD's cataloged in it and there are 600 + movies in that program and I do not wish to re-enter them into a different program. BTW Crossover did work to do this with LMDE and LMDE 2, but my version is outdated, so I will have probably have to purchase the newest edition which is well worth the bucks to avoid re-entering all the date into a different program.

Again, my apologies plus my appreciation for all the help I've gotten over the years with this forum.

1. The file system has nothing to do with what programs you can run. Windows programs don't need an NTFS partition.
2. You will always need either Linux with Wine (free)/Crossover (paid) or pure Windows (as a dual boot or run in a virtual machine) to run Windows applications.

GM 10,
Thanks. Info I needed to know before I partition for my LMDE3 install.
