Hi to all,
since my change from LMDE3 to LMDE4 (new installation) hibernate (suspend to disk) does not work in a proper manner. If I switch off to hibernate, data seems to write to the HD. But after the wake-up, everything is lost, only Firefox offers to restore the tabs.
Any hints or ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Re: LMDE 4 - hibernate does not work
Hibernate working is very much hardware specific. Hence LM Cinnamon even doesn't have hibernate button.
If I have helped you solve a problem, please add [SOLVED] to your first post title, it helps other users looking for help.

Re: LMDE 4 - hibernate does not work
This is amazing, because hibernate was supported by the former OS LMDE3 (INTEL chipset) without any pull-ups.

Re: LMDE 4 - hibernate does not work
Hi,
I had the same problem and found a solution. I had to do this with OpenSuse to get hibernation to work.
Open a terminal window and navigate to (cd /etc/systemd) . Create a backup copy of logind.conf just in case this doesn't work for you (sudo cp logind.conf logind.conf.bak). Then edit the logind.conf file by uncommenting the lidswitch line and changing "suspend" to "hibernate" and uncommenting the ignore lid switch line. (sudo xed logind.conf). Then save it. I believe you have to reboot for it to take effect. After the reboot you should be able to hibernate by shutting the laptop lid. If you want to hibernate using other actions, modify the logind.conf file appropriately. Mine looked like this when I was done
[Login]
#NAutoVTs=6
#ReserveVT=6
#KillUserProcesses=no
#KillOnlyUsers=
#KillExcludeUsers=root
#InhibitDelayMaxSec=5
#HandlePowerKey=poweroff
#HandleSuspendKey=suspend
#HandleHibernateKey=hibernate
HandleLidSwitch=hibernate
#HandleLidSwitchExternalPower=suspend
#HandleLidSwitchDocked=ignore
#PowerKeyIgnoreInhibited=no
#SuspendKeyIgnoreInhibited=no
#HibernateKeyIgnoreInhibited=no
LidSwitchIgnoreInhibited=yes
#HoldoffTimeoutSec=30s
#IdleAction=ignore
#IdleActionSec=30min
#RuntimeDirectorySize=10%
#RemoveIPC=yes
#InhibitorsMax=8192
#SessionsMax=8192
Hope this helps.
