Thanks to all concerned at Linux Mint for the stable update experience.
Two machines upgraded today, no issues encountered whatsoever. I've configured the refresh rate the proper way now in the updated display settings dialogue and removed my script entry from startup applications.

It sure did. Not only Cinnamon but several other updates also. Many thanks to the Mint team/developers for their hard work and dedication supporting LMDE4.
