debian_version

Post by javierpuche »

Hello,

I read recently about debian 10 releasing 10.7. I update my LMDE (apt full-upgrade) but I still get 10.2 in the /etc/debian_version file . I am curious to know if LMDE freezes on debian versions or if is it possible to upgrade to latest stable, or it is just the /etc/debian_version file that does not get updated and it keeps the original release number.

Thanks.

It's just that file, due to pinned base-files package in LMDE repos. See also: viewtopic.php?f=246&t=325862
