LMDE4 + Bullseye

Freeze is coming for Debian 11 (https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-a ... 00002.html)

LMDE4 works well with the Debian repository "Bullseye".
Mint-upgrade application doesn't work. But it's OK in command line (for update && upgrade).

It's a good news for LMDE...5 (?)

I guess you could add the Mint Debbie repositories to that but it still wouldn't make it LMDE4½

I'm half hoping LM will port Cinnamon 4.8 to LMDE4 some time in January after Mint 20.1 is out of the door but if it doesn't happen it's no problem. 4.6.7 is decent enough already.

It's different for Cinnamon. It is more recent and aesthetic with the provenance of Mint.
There are also Mint software (usb key preparer, application center, etc.)

As much as I like Debian with other DMs (like GNOME, Mate, LXQt), as much for Cinnamon I think the Mint version is still the best.

Yes indeed, the Mint Software Center is a champion. I like it too but my personal automatic action is to start synaptic or apt.
Mint stick is amazing too and can be installed from deb:

+1 to preferring good old fashioned synaptic and apt, I also look flatpak applications up on flathub and use the command line to install them too.

On my Debian PCs, like you, I use a command line and sometime Synaptic.
But, when I want to install Debian for another (and new) user, this is not a solution.

Most people want it to work simply with a mouse (and with a nice interface).
