Pix Editor "Healing" option

Postby MaddogF16 » Sat Mar 18, 2017 6:59 pm

Using 18.1 Cinnamon and the wife really likes doing everything with her photos in Pix, she just misses having a healing tool. She struggles a bit to fully figure out GIMP

Thanks

That would be a nice additional feature.

Never used any kind of "healing tool", but a Google search reveals that there is a healing tool in Gimp.

Hi "MaddogF16",

I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well.

Good information on Gimp's image healing, thank you.

There are many very good to excellent Linux (& cross-platform) image editors available to install and use. And, there is nothing wrong with having more than one installed. There are numerous posts on this in this forum. For example: DigiKam, Corel AfterShot Pro, LightZone, Krita, RawTherapee, DarkTable, pixeluvo, photivo, Pinta, XnViewMP, smartshine (basic but nice), etc... If I'm not mistaken, I think you may be missing the point of the post which is under "Suggestions & New Ideas". I believe MaddogF16 is just simply suggesting that it would be nice if Pix had a healing option.

In which case it's something to suggest to the Pix developers, as per the forum rules here. Pix' home is on GitHub https://github.com/linuxmint/pix/issues

It helps if you describe your feature request more clearly. I haven't the foggiest what a "healing" option would be for an image; assume the developers can't remotely read your mind either

Anyone using/developing a picture editing program more than likely would know what a healing option is.

For those who don't: short answer---The healing option is a brush that can fix spots on a picture. A good example is removing blemishes from a person's face.
