it would be really nice if linux mint will please add the "ans" button to the calculator.
for example if i press 3 then equal, and then do "ans*2", i can press equal a lot of times and each time it will multiply by 2.

Linux Mint includes Gnome Calculator as default calculator on all editions. It's not developed by Linux Mint but by the Gnome Calculator developers
There is no ans button (or function or variable) in Gnome Calculator that I know of. For your example you could as a workaround copy the
Or you could install a different calculator, there are loads. There is not going to be one calculator that fits everybody's needs. A quick look at the pile of calculators available on Linux finds me SpeedCrunch https://speedcrunch.org/ and Qalculate https://qalculate.github.io/ both have an ans button. I don't know how convenient they are to use, you'll have to give them a try. You can install both through Software Manager (Qalculate is "qalculate-gtk" there).
If you want this button in Gnome Calculator that would be a feature request for its developers. You can make that here https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-ca ... r/-/issues but please do first have a good look at whether there is not already another (open or closed) issue for the same.

hello, i still use the Gnome Calculator. i really like it and the missing ans button is not that a big deal for me.
although i did posted a feature request, and hoping this feature will be added:

oh and im also using sageMath, so the most of the complicated stuff i do there.
